Why are White Blue State liberals against NCLB

This is a question I will be addressing in depth over the next few months, because this stance against the No Child Left Behind act is the biggest betrayal of Black America in the last 30 years or more.

NCLB is an excellent law, it is logical and makes sense that is why it passed with a huge bipartisan support. But now that its being implemented the left doesn't like it anymore because they realize that by creating an open playing field they will lose their protected status.

The first to lose their protected status is of course the teachers union members who have been able to get raise after raise without ever showing competence.

The second to lose their protected status are the families with children that benefit from white flight, and the economic apartheid of local school funding.

The third to lose are the protected status are the homeowner who live in these economic reservations that have had their home values and their personl wealth increase due to white flight of families looking for "better" schools.

This is not a short or a simple story, Bush has managed to pass the most potent piece of legislation in the last 20 years. We as black Americans must preserve it.

If you have time read "The Two-Income Trap: Why Middle-Class Mothers and Fathers Are Going Broke". Its an excellent book with very important implication beyond their own thesis.

War on Terror is a Non - Issue for the election part 2

Bush or Kerry? No Difference no difference on foreign policy. No matter which man gets elected in November there will be no real change in foreign policy. Commentaries on both side of the political spectrum have noted this. Since there is no significant policy difference between the two one should not cast their vote based on this issue and should instead focus on domestic issues in making your decision.

"What Europe Doesn't Understand
Neoconservatism is neither neo nor conservative. It's just American."

"Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dem"

"Oh, those of us who cringe at the sight of neocons may be momentarily
relieved to see the "creative destructionists" pack their bags and
leave the Pentagon, the State Department, and the White House, head
out for their radical right-wing foundations and conspiracy tanks, but
it will be, all told, little more than a shuffling of deck chairs and
a change of stationary."

Bush or Kerry? No Difference

"The man who, after Super Tuesday, is all but certain to become the
Democrats' candidate for president is as dedicated as any Republican
to the American empire."

Last Night I was given some advice: Send Money to Nader

I think my good friend truly hit upon the solution for those who have been so brainwashed that they can't vote for the party of Lincon. Vote Nader it allows you to voice your stand for social justice,it allows your vote to be counted and it will allow the most progressive candidate to win.

  Resisting the urge to Blog

Fast information, is an addiction. It hinders clear thought. Many things don't need deep though, they are already known. For example I don't have to think about opening a door for a lady. It happens without thought. Blogging is so easy that it to can happen without thought. Find an article that interest you, link, quote and maybe a comment. Its easy fun and useful, but sometimes one should stop think, write and think again. The Cosby uproar is something I want to think on before I post on it.

I have also finished reading "The two income trap" I was not designed to be a book about black issues, but they had a interesting throw away piece of data, which was that you are more likely to get a subprime mortgage as a wealthy black person as than as a poor white person.

More later ...
